I'm not feeling it

I'm not feeling the Amazon within these days. It's very sad. I've got to get up off my butt and get to the gym. I don't have to do everything, I just have to do something! I can't even seem to get outside for a walk that lasts more than 5 minutes. Gah!

Are there any lurkers out there that can help me get out of this stubborn rut?

As you can tell by my postings, I've been struggling with keeping the routine going and trying to acknowledge doing even just a little bit. At least you're walking for 5 minutes, right?

I don't know what motivates you, but I do know that moving beyond the initial inertia takes sooo much more energy than it does to keep it going. My current trick is putting little peel-n-stick stars on my calendar for ANY activity/moving that I've done, even if it's 20 minutes around the track. I love seeing the progress, and putting a symbol on my calendar is rewarding in its own bizarre way :-)

So maybe set one mini-goal that can help you get back on track, and once you've accomplished it, set another mini-goal and so forth until you're back into whatever routine works for you. It was really difficult for me to realize that my upcoming fall routine did not *have* to look like my past routines!

Good luck, and thanks for stopping by my blog.
